Job Opening: Part-time Deputy City Clerk
The City of Newell, population 906, is seeking a part-time Deputy City Clerk. The position will be approximately 20 hours/week pay to be determined by applicant and will include IPERS benefit. Job duties include utility billing, working with the public, data entry, accounts payable, bookkeeping, budget reports, reconciliations, administrative support to the city clerk, and other duties as assigned. Candidate must have or acquire CMC (Certified Municipal Clerk). Successful candidates should have office experience, good communication skills, be detail-oriented, and a willingness to succeed.

Golf Course Clubhouse
The City of Newell is seeking part time employees to work at the golf course clubhouse for the 2026 season. Applicants must be 18 years of age. The clubhouse is open from April 1st until October 17th. Duties include collecting fees, cooking, bartending, cleaning, helping with tournaments, and others as assigned. Light lifting may be required. Starting Wage $13.00

Mowing/Maintenance
The City of Newell is seeking an individual to help with mowing and maintenance on the golf course for the 2026 season. Applicants must be 16 years or older. Starting Wage $15.00.
Park/Shelter House
The City of Newell is seeking an individual for seasonal shelter house upkeep, park maintenance, ball diamond cleaning from May 1 to September 30, 2026. Duties include cleaning bathrooms in all parks/recs as assigned, cleaning inside and outside of shelter house, changing all parks/rec garbages, and other upkeep. Starting Wage $15.00
City Mowing/ Maintenance
The City of Newell is seeking 2-3 individuals for 2026 seasonal city mowing, trimming, and maintenance on all city property (parks, cemetery, etc.), as well as other duties assigned by the public works superintendent. Applicants must be 16 years or older. Starting Wage $15.00
